I love to make anything with a sewing machine. From dressmaking, including lingerie and corsets; patchwork and quilting; soft furnishings; bags and accessories, if it can be sewn on a machine I'll have a go!
Fabric and Haberdashery
I have a small but growing fabric and haberdashery shop. My aim is to bring the best haberdashery to Penistone at competitive prices to locals who sew or craft. Having taken sewing tools, haberdashery, and fabric to classes I can now proudly say that I have opened a bricks and mortar shop in the centre of Penistone.
In 2014, I took the plunge and started to teach sewing, then in 2016, I started my own company Sewcial Sewing®.
Based in Penistone, Barnsley, South Yorkshire I teach every Tuesday evening at St John's Community Centre and twice a month on a Thursday in my shop in Penistone. These classes are very informal and social. Bring along anything you want to learn. If you are a total beginner I can take you through the basics.
On the third Sunday of the month in the upper hall at St John’s Community Centre, Penistone, we hold a Sewcial Sunday. A great place to sit and sew with like minded people.
Starting in January 2024, i will be holding various workshops in my shop, so check them out online.
All classes are now available to book through my website and can be found here
I have three sewing machines. These are available to loan from myself for a small fee. They are also available at classes for those without a machine. Also available for use in classes are both an overlocker and a cover stitch machine.
This is me. I am wearing a dress I have made, and the corset I made for my 40th birthday celebrations.
